Rolling Meadows Library Receives $53,050 RAILS Cataloging Membership Grant

Rolling Meadows Library is pleased to announce that RAILS (Reaching Across Illinois Library System) has awarded the library a $53,050 Cataloging Membership Grant. This grant program helps Illinois libraries strengthen resource sharing and reduce local costs by supporting participation in shared catalog systems.

This funding will cover the startup expenses for Rolling Meadows Library to join CCS, a consortium of public libraries that collaborate on cataloging and circulation services. While the partnership will ultimately support the launch of a new shared catalog in Fall 2026, the immediate impact of the grant is financial—reducing the burden on the library’s operating budget and allowing us to expand services without increasing costs to the community.

More information about the new catalog and what patrons can expect will be shared during 2026 as the project moves forward.
