Social Media Intern (Temporary-1 year minimum preferred)

pay rate: $15.62 per hour

hours: 15 hours per week; Flexible hours including some day, evening, and weekends to attend library programs and outreach events.

Job summary: The Social Media Intern will play a key role in supporting the library's digital outreach and engagement efforts. Under the guidance of the Special Services Director, the intern will assist in developing and implementing social media strategies aimed at increasing community engagement, promoting library programs and resources, and enhancing the library’s overall online presence.

job duties:

  • Create engaging content (text, images, video) for Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube Collaborate with staff to promote events, programs, and resources.
  • Photograph and film programs/events
  • Monitor and respond to social media interactions
  • Track and report on engagement, reach, and follower growth
  • Support community engagement and build relationships with local partners
  • Represent the library at events to capture and share highlights

education and experience: High school diploma required. Preference for candidates who are pursuing or have education and experience in communication, marketing, or digital media.
