The library first opened its doors to the public on February 29, 1960, in a converted single-family home at 3300 Meadow Drive. This three-bedroom house had previously served as the sales office for Kimball Hill and Associates, the developers of the original Rolling Meadows homes.
Due to rapid growth and increasing demand, the library soon outgrew its original space. A new, larger facility was built at 3110 Martin Lane, opening to the public on October 31, 1967—where the library proudly continues to serve the community today.
