Community RoomFrom Le Griffon to modern disasters, explore the deadly Great Lakes storms called the Witches of November.
In autumn, frigid air descends on the Great Lakes while the water temperature is still warm from summer. This temperature difference brings turbulent storms. Starting in 1679 when Le Griffon sank in Lake Michigan, this presentation explores how the Witches of November (also known as the Gales of November) have been responsible for thousands of shipwrecks.
